Grace Teller graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science and Resource Management in 2013. While attending UW she worked to earn her divemaster certification and participated in an apprenticeship at Friday Harbor Laboratories which exposed her to the world of marine science. In her time at the UW she learned many sampling and survey techniques for marine mammals, sea birds, fishes, sediment, and water. Some of these techniques were displayed in her senior thesis with examined porpoise density and distribution within a highly dynamic straight. To further her knowledge Grace earned a Master of Science Degree in 2016 in Biological Oceanography from Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego. Her degree involved differentiating marine mammal acoustic echolocations for a few species. Since graduation Grace has been working at MTS, conducting field surveys, preparing reports, and sorting invertebrate samples.
