Mina graduated from San Jose State University in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in Marine Biology. During her time at SJSU, she gained valuable experience by taking classes at Moss Landing Marine Labs and earning her AAUS diving certification. In the period between her undergraduate and graduate studies, Mina dedicated her time to various diving projects, including spearfishing lionfish in Belize and conducting kelp surveys in Monterey.
Currently pursuing her master's degree at Moss Landing Marine Labs, Mina focuses her research on studying algal dynamics in an urchin barren site. She has actively participated in numerous field projects, conducting comprehensive studies on invertebrates, fish, and seaweed. Mina's background in aquaculture further contributes to her expertise, having previously served as a research consultant for a seaweed farming start-up before joining the MTS team.
When she's not immersed in her scientific pursuits, Mina finds joy in spending her free time outdoors and exploring the underwater world.
