Rod Velasquez graduated from the University of Hawaii with a B.S. in Biology in 2009. While in Hawaii, Rod worked in museums as a molecular biologist technician and participated in population genetic studies, managed insect collections and assisted scientists during field work. His interest in conservation biology led him to study the relationship between the built and natural environment. In 2017, Rod graduated from Woodbury University with a Master's Degree in Architecture.
Rod brings a unique perspective with his focus on finding a niche in nature for our built environment. He applies his wide scope of knowledge to our laboratory and field teams as we work to make sense of and mitigate the biological, chemical and man-made impacts to our environment.
